Kyle Benedict, Port Angeles boys basketball

Kyle Benedict did it all during Port Angeles’ dominant performance during the Port Angeles Holiday Basketball Tournament this past weekend.

How dominant were the Riders? They beat Rochester 85-19 and followed that up by beating Auburn Mountainview — a 4A school — 60-21. This comes after a Port Angeles 83-52 shellacking over Olympic on Dec. 18.

Benedict scored 20 against Olympic (with four 3-pointers) 12 against Rochester and 26 against Auburn Mountain for 16 ppg over his past three games.

But, much of what Benedict does defensively and controlling the offense goes beyond the scorebook, according to his coach, Kasey Ulin.

“I can’t say enough about Kyle. That might have been the best game of his career — just a complete game. Handling the ball, playing with poise, numerous assists, he scored the ball, he was disruptive defensively, he rebounded the ball,” Ulin said of Benedict’s all-around play.
