Sequim quarterback Kaden Miller had a near-perfect game against Elma Friday night as the Wolves won 49-30 to remain undefeated on the season.
The Wolves made a big change at quarterback this season, moving from Zeke Schmadeke to Miller. The gamble has paid off big-time so far.
Against Elma, Miller was 11-for-12 passing (91.7 percent completion percentage) for 199 yards (16.6 yards per attempt), zero interceptions and three touchdowns as the Wolves romped to a 49-14 lead in the fourth quarter.
Miller’s best two throws came on a pair of 30-yard touchdown passes on consecutive possessions to Schmadeke.
On the first, he threw a perfect pass to Schmadeke, who got behind the Elma defense in the end zone down the right sideline. On the second pass, he zipped the ball past a diving Elma defensive back, allowing Schmadeke to scamper untouched down the left sideline for a score.
Miller and his Sequim teammates will be at Port Angeles Civic Field on Friday to take on their Roughrider rivals.
Athlete of the Week is sponsored by Swain’s General Store in Port Angeles.
