2024 Winterfest banquet funds Ridge sports

PORT ANGELES — Winter sports education at Hurricane Ridge will benefit from the annual Winterfest banquet set Nov. 23 at the Vern Burton Community Center, 308 E. Fourth St.

The event includes dinner by Kokopelli Grill, a no-host beer and wine bar, live and silent auctions along with variety and cash raffles.

Appetizers by Upper Valley Charcuterie, a Hurricane Ridge Oyster Bar with oysters from Jamestown Seafood, after dinner beverages from Fogtown Coffee and pie sponsored by DA Davidson also are on the menu.

Doors open at 5 p.m., with festivities beginning at 6 p.m.

Proceeds from the evening fund the youth ski and snowboard programs, training for our instructors and medical training for our volunteer Ski Patrol as well as capital improvements to the ski area.

Tickets are $80 in advance and $95 at the door or you can show your community spirit by purchasing a community table for eight for $600, a community table for ten for $750 or a community table for twelve for $900.

Early registration

SEQUIM — Early bird-registration for the 2025 Sequim Little League season is available at sequimlittleleague.com.

The league offers youth T-Ball, baseball and softball options for ages 4-through-16, including a new hybrid coach/player pitch softball league for 7-and 8-year-olds.

The cost is $120 per player with a $20 discount applied for those who have registered by Dec. 31.

Grants and fee assistance are available.

Coaches and volunteers should also sign up during registration.

Sequim youth hoops

SEQUIM — Sequim Youth Basketball will host in-person registration for the 2025 season for boys and girls in kindergarten through fourth grade on Nov. 9 and 16.

The registration sessions will be held at the Sequim Middle School gymnasium.

A 15-minute player evaluation is part of the registration process. Players should arrive ready to participate with gym shoes and athletic clothing.

Kindergarten through second grade will register from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. while third- and fourth-graders will register from 10 a.m. to noon.

The cost is $65 for Kinderhoops, $85 for first- through fourth-graders.

The eight-week season begins in January.
