AREA SPORTS: Sprint boat race Saturday; buy tickets in advance

PORT ANGELES — Tickets for Saturday’s sprint boat races at are available online at tickets.extremesportspark.net.

The venue is Extreme Sports Park, 2917 W. Edgewood Drive.

Adult tickets are $30, while seniors 65 and older and children 12 and younger are $25.

Tickets also will be available at the gate on race day for an additional $5 fee.

Camping opens at noon Thursday and is available for $25 per night, or $50 for the weekend.

Gates will open at 8:30 a.m. on race day, with sprint boat heats beginning at 10 a.m. and the finals usually wrapping up between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m.

The event includes a beer garden and food and merchandise vendors.

Softball tryouts

PORT ANGELES — MGI Fastpitch will hold open tryouts for players born in the years 2003-2009 on July 28.

The tryouts will be held at the Lincoln Park fields from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Attend Hawks camp

RENTON — Fans interested in attending Seattle Seahawks training camp practices can register at www.seahawks.com/trainingcamp.

Registration is available on a first-come, first-served basis, and fans 15 or younger must be accompanied by an adult.

A total of 12 public Training Camp practices will be open to fans July 28 through Aug. 12. Eleven of those will be held at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center in Renton. The team will also host a special offsite practice at Lumen Field in Seattle on Aug. 8.

A $12 transportation fee will be charged per person to attend Seahawks Training Camp, as fans will be required to park off-site and be shuttled to VMAC before each practice. Tickets for the practice at Lumen Field are $17 .
