AREA SPORTS: Registration open for youth baseball and softball in Port Angeles and Port Townsend plus Sequim Soccer info

Registration for NOBAS open through Feb. 26

PORT ANGELES — Registration is underway for North Olympic Baseball and Softball’s upcoming seasons at https://tinyurl.com/PDN-NOBAS25.

The league offers 46/60 Majors for 9 and 10-year-olds with players pitching 46 feet from home plate and a distance of 60 feet between bases; 50/70 Majors for ages 11-12 and Minors (7-11) and Majors (9-12) softball plus T-Ball.

Fees are $104.75 for each program.

All athletes who are age eligible for Majors 46/60 (previously AAA) (8 years old by May 1) and for all age-eligible athletes not yet drafted to Majors 50/70 (10 years old by May 1) must attend at least one of two planned skills testing sessions.

Baseball skill tests will be held at Volunteer Field on Feb. 23 and March 1.

Softball skill tests will be held at Volunteer Field on Feb. 22 and March 2.

Registration closes Feb. 26.

Port Angeles also will host the Cal Ripken state tournaments for ages 9-12 from July 9-13.

Open hitting sessions

PORT ANGELES — Open hitting sessions for North Olympic Baseball and Softball and Olympic Junior Babe Ruth players is set this week at the NOBAS Baseball and Softball Barn, 260 Easy St.

Baseball hitting sessions will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday and Wednesday.

A softball hitting session will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Players must be registered at NOBAS.org.

When prompted for payment, send a message via https://www.facebook.com/PBSBARN for a free registration code.

Non-league players and high school students also can attend but must register and pay an annual $50 fee.

PT Little League

Early-bird registration for Port Townsend Little League’s baseball and softball programs is available through Jan. 22 at www.ptll.org.

The league offers pitching machine or player-pitch options for its minor league baseball, plus major and junior baseball leagues.

There will be minor and major softball leagues with player pitch.

T-Ball also is offered. The registration fee for T-Ball is $60. All other options are $125.

Practices begin in early March with the season running from April to June.

Sequim Junior Soccer

SEQUIM — Registration for Sequim Junior Soccer’s spring leagues is open at https://tinyurl.com/PDN-SJS25.

Practices are held Monday through Friday with days and times set by individual coaches.

Hour-long practices typically run during the 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. time frame.

U5/6 and U7/8 teams will practice once a week, U10 and U12 practice twice a week and U15 practice twice a week for 90 minutes. Practices cannot start any earlier than 4 p.m.

All games will be played on Saturdays starting April 12 at the Albert Haller Fields in Sequim, with the exception of the first two Saturdays in May due to the Sequim Irrigation Festival.

A modified schedule will be released for the first two weeks in May prior to the season starting.

You will be notified by the Registrar with the exact details.

The Mini Ballers league for kids born between April 2, 2021, and May 31, 2022, are held on Saturday only and start on April 26.

Mini Ballers registration is $45, U5 through U15 registrations are $75.
