Friday summer youth volleyball sessions begin June 28 in Sequim

Free Spartan Youth Football Camp in Forks

FORKS — A free youth football camp for players entering fourth through eighth grades will be offered by the Forks High School football team on July 23.

The camp will run from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the high school football field.

Campers will receive a T-shirt and water bottle.

Attendees should bring cleats and shorts.

Summer volleyball sessions

SEQUIM — Summer volleyball instruction will be offered starting this Friday and continuing each week through July 29 at the Sequim Boys & Girls Club gym, 400 W. Fir St.

Instruction will be provided by Momentum Club volleyball coaches and players.

Co-ed sessions for ages 8 through 12 will run from 1 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. and boys ages 13-18 from 2:15 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The cost is $30 to cover Boys & Girls Club membership.

Summer hoops in PT

PORT TOWNSEND — A summer basketball camp for players entering grades one through eight will be offered Aug. 1-4 by Jefferson County Parks and Recreation.

The camp will be held at Blue Heron Middle School, 3939 San Juan Ave., from 9 a.m. to noon each day.

Drills that improve technique in dribbling, shooting, passing and other basics will be offered.

All skill levels are welcome.

The camp is $75 and registration is available at tinyurl.com/PDN-JeffCoHoops22.

Club soccer camp

CHIMACUM — Jefferson County Soccer Club will offer a youth soccer camp with morning (ages 4-14), afternoon (7-14) and full day (7-14) options from July 18-22.

The camp will be held at H.J. Caroll, 9884 Rhody Drive.

The morning price is $135, afternoon is $119 and full day is $188.

SEQUIM —Sunland Golf & Country Club recently held it’s first major of the season, the Member-Member Championship.

In the Ladies Division, Bobbie Piety and Judy Nordyke posted rounds of 82 and 81 to win the Overall Gross Championship for the third straight year.

Cheryl Coulter (69) and Judy Flanders (72)won the Net crown.

Irene Schmidt and Mary Fryer combined to win the First Flight gross (180) with Carol Deckman and Gail Flynn (188) second.

Cynthia Edel and Mary Kubas-Meyer (142) won the First Flight net title with Susan Elvert and Janet Littlefield four back (146).

Men’s Club overall gross winners were Mark Meythaler (73) and Jay Tomlin (74) for a total of 147 strokes.

Overall net winners were Bob Harms (63) and Mike Schmidt (64).

Mike Mullikin and Dan O’Claray teamed for a 152 to win the First Flight’s gross contest

John Sims and Steve Worden claimed first net with 137.

In the second flight, Bob Gunn and Dennis Powell posted a 163 for top gross.

Mike Leftwich and Dave Walp claimed second flight net honors with a combined 134.
