AREA SPORTS BRIEFS: West End Thunder drag races return this weekend

Peninsula College to host summer basketball camps in July and August

FORKS — The first West End Thunder drag racing event of the summer will be held at the Forks Municipal Airport on Saturday and Sunday.

Gates open at 7 a.m. for technical teams and 8:30 a.m. for the general public.

Admission is cash only, $10 for adults, free for 12 and younger.

Entrance fees are $15 for the auto show and shine, $20 for the daily driver class and $40 for all events.

Parking is available at the south end of the track off Russell Road.

All attendees must sign a liability release form and wear a wrist band in plain sight.

Additional West End Thunder weekends are July 24-25, Aug. 21-22 and Sept. 11-12.

PC basketball camps

PORT ANGELES — Peninsula College will hold two Pirate Basketball Camp sessions this summer for players 7 to 12 years old.

Each camp session will run from 9 a.m. to noon daily, the first set July 19-23 and the second Aug. 16-20.

Attendees must wear face masks.

Players will be taught by Pirate coaches and athletes.
