AREA SPORTS BRIEFS: Sequim Little League end-of-season celebration to show ‘The Sandlot’ Saturday

Water safety classes later this month

SEQUIM — Sequim Little League will host an end-of-season celebration beginning at noon Saturday with concessions, raffles for items such as Seattle Mariners tickets, a pitching machine hitting contest based on divisions and more.

The event is capped that evening by a free screening of the classic youth baseball film, “The Sandlot.”

Gates open at the Sequim Little League fields, 124 W. Silberhorn Road, at 8 p.m., and the movie will start about 9 p.m. Concessions, including popcorn and cotton candy, will be available for purchase.

Spectators should bring a blanket or lawn chair and no pets, alcohol or smoking is allowed.

Unable to host Opening Day ceremonies in both 2020 and 2021, the league wanted to host this end-of-the-season celebration to thank various volunteers and the community for the support.
