AREA SPORTS BRIEFS: Select softball tryouts slated

Soccer dribbling skills class at Sequim YMCA

PORT ANGELES — MGI Fast Pitch is seeking players for its long-running 18U girls softball team.

Interested players ages 13 to 18 in the Port Angeles area can email Morgan Worthington or Casey Rudd at MGIfastpitch@gmail.com for more information or to set up a tryout.

Enrichment classes

SEQUIM — The YMCA of Sequim will offer a soccer dribbling skills clinic as part of a number of youth enrichment classes offered outdoors for ages 8 to 15 in October.

The Soccer Dribbling Skills class will meet outdoors at the YMCA of Sequim, 610 N. Fifth Ave., at 3 p.m. Oct. 15.

A Peninsula College soccer player will discuss dribbling and footwork skills. Attendees should bring their own soccer ball if they have one.

The course is 60 minutes in length and the cost is $10 for YMCA members, $13 for non-members.

All students must bring face masks and dress appropriately for the weather.

YMCA instructors will assure that social distancing is maintained, and hand sanitizer will be available.

Registration is limited to eight students per class.
