AREA SPORTS BRIEFS: Salazar Painting, Forks FC tops in Peninsula College soccer league

PORT ANGELES — Forks FC and Salazar Painting improved to 3-0 in Peninsula Soccer League play Sunday, each winning by large margins.

Forks FC shut out Ediz Hook FC 9-0, getting two goals each from Hugo Sandoval and Ernesto Julio, and solo scores from Tina Lonzalez, Saul Zanabria, Jose Cendejas and Aurelio Garcia, as well as an own goal.

Salazar Painting was too much for Bandidos FC, winning 8-4. Pablo Salazar had a hat trick, Edgar Aceves and Samuel Aceves each scored twice and Jose Vladimir added the other goal for the winners. CJ Daniels scored a pair of goals. Cedric Bailey and Chris Lopes also found the net for the Bandidos.

High Energy Metals improved to 2-0-1 with a 3-1 win over Los Primos. Jake Hughes, Phil Gaethe and Maeve Harris scored for HEM.

Windermere stayed in the hunt, improving to 2-1-0 with a thrilling 3-2 nod over Pura Vida. Luis Galvan scored all three for the real estate club, while Rafael Flores and Evan Cisneros had goals for Pura Vida.

In Sunday’s other match, Pantry & Latch recorded its first win with a 7-1 romp over Strait Slice. Mike Ingraham had a hat trick and Alex Lopes, Spencer Smith, Ben Stanley and Alec Harrison all scored for Pantry. Luke Strong-Cvetich had the lone tally for Strait Slice.
