AREA SPORTS BRIEFS: Roughrider reunion; Port Townsend Braves youth football registration; sports physicals in Jefferson County

PT youth football/cheer registration

PORT TOWNSEND — Registration for the Port Townsend Braves youth football and cheerleading programs and the first practices of the season will be held Monday at Blue Heron Middle School, 3939 San Juan Ave.

Registration will run from 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. with practice following from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Fees are $50 for football, $25 per player for two or more players per family. Cheerleading fees are $65 per participant.

Volunteers also are sought.

Sports physicals set

PORT TOWNSEND — The Jefferson County Public Health Department is offering sports physicals for student athletes in advance of the fall sports season.

Appointments can be made at the school-based health centers at Port Townsend or Chimacum high schools.

Vaccinations also are available.

Appointments will be available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Port Townsend High School on Tuesday, Thursday and Tuesday, Aug. 21.

At Chimacum High School, appointments will be available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Friday and Wednesday, Aug. 22.

Insurance can be billed or physicals can be performed for $45.
