AREA SPORTS BRIEFS: Kids’ Fishing Day set for April 20 at Carrie Blake Park

SEQUIM — The 23rd annual Kids’ Fishing Day is set for 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 20 at the water reuse demonstration pond on the north side of Carrie Blake Park.

All kids 14 and younger accompanied by an adult are invited to participate. No fishing license is required and kids are allowed to keep two fish each.

Worms and power bait will be available and a fish-cleaning station will be provided. The event is sponsored by the North Olympic Peninsula Chapter of Puget Sound Anglers, the city of Sequim and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife.

Hole in one

SEQUIM — Cedars at Dungeness announced that local golfer Jan Clendening scored a hole-in-one on Thursday.

Clendening used her pitching wedge and a Titleist ProV1 ball from 86 yards out on Hole No. 8. It was her second career hole-in-one. The shot was witnessed by Terry Boyd and Ferhan Kayihan.
