AREA SPORTS BRIEF: Port Angeles’ Dayton Williams named WIAA Athlete of the Week

RENTON — Port Angeles soccer player Dayton Williams was named a Washington Interscholastic Activities Association Athlete of the Week for scoring four goals in one game.

Williams completed the feat on April 4 in a home game against Klahowya during a 5-3 Riders’ win over the Eagles. He played a part in every goal that day as he also had an assist on Port Angeles’ fifth goal.

“Those were A-level goals, every one of them was picture perfect,” Port Angeles head soccer coach Chris Saari said of Williams’ effort.

Athletes named WIAA Athletes of the Week receive a certificate from the WIAA and a $25 gift card from Dick’s Sporting Goods.
