AMERICAN LEGION: Dick Brown Memorial Tournament returns Thursday

PORT ANGELES — The Dick Brown Memorial Firecracker Tournament returns to Civic Field with two local teams playing among 17 games from Thursday through Sunday.

Wilder Senior and Wilder Junior are the host of the 24th annual tournament. Wilder Senior is the defending champion.

Cost is $10 per person per day and there will be a concession stand with food and refreshments. All proceeds help raise funds for the three Wilder Baseball Club teams.

“This is a big week for us,” said Wilder Senior coach Zac Moore.

Joining Wilder Senior and Wilder Junior are six other teams from around Washington — the WBC Colts Red, WBC Colts Black, Rival BBC, NW Sting, Lakeside BR and the Kitsap Warriors.

The teams will be broken up into the Blue Division — Wilder Senior, WBC Colts Red, Rival BBC and NW Sting; and the Red Division — Wilder Junior, WBC Colts Black, Lakeside BR and Kitsap Warriors. The first three games are in a round-robin format with consolation and championship games Sunday.

All the Wilder Senior games are at 7 p.m. Wilder’s Saturday night game against NW Sting also counts as an American Legion AAA Region 1 league game.

The forecast for the games is nearly perfect. Partly cloudy with highs in the upper 60s for the entire weekend.

WBC Colts Red vs. Wilder Sr., 7 p.m.

Friday

Wilder Jr. vs. Lakeside BR, 9 a.m.

WBC Colts Black vs, Kitsap Warriors, 11:30 a.m.

NW Sting vs. WBC Colts Red, 2 p.m.

NW Sting vs. Rival BBC, 4:30 p.m.

Wilder Sr. vs Rival BBC, 7 p.m.

Saturday

WBC Colts Red vs. Rival BBC, 10 a.m.

Lakeside BR vs. WBC Colts Black, 1 p.m.

Wilder Jr. vs. Kitsap Warriors, 4 p.m.

Wilder Sr. vs. NW Sting, 7 p.m.

Sunday

Red No. 4 vs. Blue No. 4, consolation game, 9 a.m.

Blue No. 3 vs. Red No. 3, consolation game, 11:30 a.m.

Blue No. 1 vs. Red No. 2, semifinal, 2 p.m.

Blue No. 2 vs. Red No. 1, semifinal, 4:30 p.m.

Championship game, 7 p.m.
