By Greg Johns

Hey, Alex. Listen up. No boos here. No anger. No sarcasm.

Just a suggestion.

When you line up along the first base line at Safeco Field with your American League teammates Tuesday evening, take time to soak it all in.

Close your eyes and feel the roar of the crowd when Ichiro Suzuki gets introduced.

Imagine how those roars could have been yours. Let it wash over you like a cold tidal wave of reality.

Remember how they once were yours.

These fans.

These emotions.

These blades of grass, these dugout benches and, yes, this spacious Safeco Field that Ichiro so gracefully embraces.

Realize what a mistake you made.
