First there was BB, then there were CC and DD, and now we have a sparkling new member of the skin care alphabet family: EE cream. Yep, this double letter alphabet beauty craze is not going anywhere.
But what does the double E stand for? And what does an EE cream actually do?
The double E stands for ‘Extra Exfoliation’, making them a wonder product for anyone with dull, lacklustre or congested skin. They’re also great for more sensitive skins because they generally don’t use uneven granules exfoliate the skin, but ingredients like alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) and beta hydroxy acids (BHAs) to gently unclog pores, remove dead skin cells and renew the skin without the need for scrubbing. Most EE creams are designed to be mixed in with your current cleanser for an extra deep clean, while others will be used alone in place of your regular face scrub.
So, now all we have to do is sit back, relax, and wait for the surge of new EE creams to hit the market. Question is, will they ever be as popular as the much-loved BB cream? Only time will answer that.
Have you heard of EE creams? Would you like to try an EE cream? Do you currently use BB, CC or DD creams?
