Meghan Markle’s Favourite Skin Care Brand Has Just Released An SPF

For those closely following along at home, you’ll know by now that Meghan Markle loves herself a bit of the luxe Japanese-based skin care label, Tatcha. So much so, in fact, that the Duchess of Sussex currently kicks off her skin care routine with the brand’s exfoliator, the Rice Polish Enzyme ($97, MECCA). And now, following Tatcha’s latest launch, we suspect it won’t be long before she’s completing her routine with one of their products too; specifically, the brand spanking new drop: The Silk Sunscreen.

In what may be the sunscreen’s most attractive feature, it claims to leave no chalky or white residue on the skin, a promise that has immediately set it apart from competitors. The lightweight SPF50+ has been designed as a multi-purpose product, set to replace your primer as it creates a smooth, sheer base under makeup, as well as a skin-nourishing serum, due to its inclusion of the skin care powerhouse ingredients hyaluronic acid and niacinamide.

Neither the sheer, nourishing nature of the formula, nor the high price tag (it’s currently selling for $60 USD which translates to approximately $84 AUD) come as much of a surprise. However, if Tatcha’s SPF can successfully replace the need for particular serums and a primer, (according to research conducted by the brand, 95 percent of participants using The Silk Sunscreen noticed an improvement in their skin texture) then the price tag seems justified, reasonable even.

Now for the bad news. There’s no sign of Tatcha’s The Silk Sunscreen available in Australia – as of yet.  However, we’re going to sit tight while we wait for it to hit our shores. Stay tuned.

What do you think about Tatcha’s Silk Sunscreen? Would you pay $84 for an SPF?

  1. Found the brand overrated and not that great (insane marketing as usual by [anti] social media). But that sunscreen looks good. Mineral based and in purple , pretty inviting.

  2. Didn’t Meghan loose her Duchess of Sussex title when Harry decided to leave the Royal family?
I find Meghan will advertise anything for $$$ so I wouldn’t buy it. I would rather buy SPF made for Aussie harsh conditions.

  3. There are so many sunscreens on the market that do not leave a white cast and also have priming and serum qualities. I would never buy this. Tatcha is an overhyped brand. I have used its products in the past.
