Hollywood has always had some creative beauty tricks up its sleeve. Some celeb-approved hacks, however, don’t call for experts or anything fancy. Cue Jamie Lee Curtis, who uses humble cans of soft drink to “decompress”, cool and soothe her eyes.

Whether pre or post-makeup application, Jamie Lee shared via Instagram that she’s invented “a really cool way to just decompress”. She went on to explain that her signature hack is to use “two very cold cans held against my eyes for five minutes.”

She’s so confident in the results of her little trick that she made a statement that may shock skin care devotees: “No need for those jade rollers.”

There’s merit to the approach Jamie Lee is taking, we assure you. Skin can feel hot and flushed right out of the shower, or you might just need help winding down after a long day. It also just feels damn refreshing, so what’s not to like?

Whilst we personally prefer the cleaner surfaces of jade rollers, ice globes or a cool gel eye mask, any kind of cold compress can be used to cool and calm the eye area.

If you’re following suit, be sure to wipe the cans down with a makeup wipe prior to contact with the face. You don’t want to transfer any germs onto your skin now do you?

It’s a little out of the box, but hey, it’s definitely an affordable option. Plus, you get to finish with a refreshing drink…

  1. I dont see an issue with it. Reading the articles heading I thought she was putting the liquid on her eyes and thought that was crazy but using the cold cans is not such a big deal and makes total sense

  2. The weird thing is when I get an aura, I have to grab two cans to take to the bedroom and put them across my eyes, etc. Not sure about helping eyes look wide awake but it sure helps with an aura/migraine.

Maybe once the aura goes and the heachache comes, maybe my eyes do look wide awake, must check it out next time then.
