In what is arguably the most prestigious award ceremony of the year, the 2022 Glosscars have arrived.
Championing the latest and greatest in beauty, the Glosscar Awards celebrate products released over the last 12 months, with categories ranging from Best New Foundation to Best New Cleanser.
For the third year in a row, COVID-related risks prevented us from hosting a face-to-face event. So instead, 100 of our VIP members received a 2022 Glosscars Trial Box to test and assess from their homes.
Having trialled and reviewed seven of our fabulous nominees, here is what our most trusted members had to say about some of the beauty products up for an award this year…
CLINIQUE Moisture Surge 100H Auto-Replenishing Hydrator
We say: This gel-cream moisturiser has lived in the spotlight since its release and with its 5 star bh rating, the hype isn’t slowing down. Use it morning and night for boosted hydration, under makeup as a plumping primer, or spot treat ultra-dry patches and allow the aloe vera bio ferment and hyaluronic acid-enriched formula to work its magic as a five minute mask.
You say: “A clear win in my books! This I have found to be the perfect balance of thick enough to feel very moisturising but not so thick or gloopy that it doesn’t absorb properly. It is very much more on the gel-like scale. It really is hydrating and I love this product!” – Funkster Diana
Star rating: 5*

Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer

We say: Moisturise, protect and tint with the latest and greatest lippy from Burt’s Bees: the Lip Shimmer. From the packaging to the formulation, these balms-meet-gloss-meet-lipstick hybrids are 100 per cent natural and recyclable. Featuring sheer pigments, soft shimmers and peppermint oil, each of the 12 shades provide intense moisture and a muted wash of colour.
You say: “The packaging is pretty and practical, the colour pay off is strong but still sheer and the shimmer is really soft and natural. It does have good staying power as do all the other Burt’s Bees balms do.” – GigiandBobbii

Dr Naomi Skin Catfish
We say: It’s a bad day to be an under eye wrinkle when this guy is sitting on the vanity. With its velvety texture and brightening cocktail of ingredients, Dr Naomi Skin’s eye cream creates an immediate blurring effect which works to conceal fine lines, reduce puffiness and fade dark circles. There’s a reason our members are comparing it to a real life filter.
You say: “I have noticed a huge improvement to the skin around my eyes. It really improved the appearance of fine lines and dark circles under my eyes. I also found that the skin under my eyes felt more moisturised. This eye cream has been really helpful to make me look less tired as I have been working a lot lately and not getting too much sleep.” – PrincessTiana2002

Synergie Skin LumiBalance
We say: As the name suggests, this lightweight facial oil balances problematic skin and leaves it with a luminous glow. Suitable for all skin types, Synergie Skin’s formula has been infused with three anti-ageing heavy hitters: bakuchiol, prickly pear seed oil and an ultra-calming lipid complex to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
You say: “Loved this absolute gorgeous facial oil. It’s super light to wear and sinks right into skin without feeling oily or greasy. I am too critical about the scent of my skincare and I can guarantee that this one is nice! It’s a great anti-ageing product that works, all the active ingredients have scientifically approved that help skin with antiaging. I used this at night before bed and when I use it the results speak for themselves as in the morning my skin looks and feels soft and smooth, brighter and less tired.” – Thesmiley

Dr Roebuck’s Barrier Reef Daily Facial Shield SPF50+
We say: If your sensitive skin rejects most SPF formulas, let Dr Roebuck’s SPF50+ have a go. The clean, mineral formula is gentle on the skin and tough on UV exposure, pollution and blue light. Named after the iconic Australian Barrier Reef, this Australian-made formula is free of chemical sunscreen absorbers, making it reef safe.
You say: “ I have dry and sensitive skin and I found it worked really well with it and I didn’t have any reactions or complaints about it. Its zinc based, so its quite thick and does take a little bit to absorb into the skin. It’s the perfect size bottle to throw in your bag or in the car. It made my skin look nice and glowy and makeup was fine to be applied over the top of it.” – Shanhads

Revitanail Total Strength 8-in-1 Nail Treatment
We say: When Revitanail says 8-in-1, it really means it. It works to strengthen, stimulate growth, hydrate, prevent breakage – nope we’re still not done – improve thickness, fill in ridges, all the while acting as both a base and top coat. Find us a nail-qualm this treatment won’t solve, we dare you.
You say: “This product has made my weak and brittle nails more healthy and strengthened. My nails are normally quite easy to peel due to its weakness, however after using this product I can tell that my nails do not peel as easily.” – Tfan21

Trilogy AHA Resurfacing Serum
We say: If your skin is looking a little on the lacklustre side, or perhaps your makeup isn’t sitting so well on your skin, you might do with introducing a daily refining and smoothing formula like Trilogy’s AHA Resurfacing Serum. Infused with Lime Pearl™ and prickly pear, this serum works to exfoliate, hydrate and leave you looking fresh faced.
You say: “After a couple of weeks of using I did find the texture of my skin especially on my forehead to be smoother and softer. My forehead was textured and rough and this seems to have gone. I have also found my skin to have more clarity and thats just after a few weeks.” – Ageless beauty
