We chat to Goldwell Ambassador, Charlotte Dawson, about her fave beauty buys, best hair tips, and what not to do when it comes to DIY dyeing your hair…
Who’s your beauty icon?
Christy Turlington. She’s aged beautifully and has a beautiful look.
What’s the last beauty item you bought?
A pack of NIVEA Visage Gentle Facial Cleansing Wipes – I can’t live without them! I also recently bought MAC Lipstick in Velvet Teddy (I love neutral colours).
What’s your fave beauty product of the moment?
At the moment I’m loving Goldwell Styling Wild Unlimitor Spray Wax. If I’m wearing my hair out and natural I apply the product and it gives my hair that really sexy beach look without it looking unkempt or messy. It’s also great if I’m pulling my hair back into a pony while I’m exercising – a real multipurpose product.
The best beauty tip you’ve ever been given is…
Getting your hairdresser to educate you about the importance of using the correct products for your hair condition in between salon visits. It’s a win-win situation – it keeps your hair looking like you’ve just been to the salon and you save time and money!
Your worst-ever beauty blunder is…
I have had a couple of home hair disasters! I dyed my hair green with food colouring when I was 15, and once I tried to put a rose tint through my very over processed bleached hair and it went a horrid pink colour! Anytime I have tried to experiment with my hair colour it has gone wrong!
Where’s the most interesting place you’ve travelled?
I worked as a producer/presenter for New Zealand’s Getaway for three years, which took me all over the world. But Australia will always be my home – I’m very connected to the country and it’s way of life.
What must-have beauty product would you not leave home without?
I can never leave home without Goldwell colorglow [IQ] Leave-In Treatment Spray, it leaves my hair silky smooth and smelling wonderful, I feel like I have just stepped out of a salon just after a few sprays, I’m addicted!
If you weren’t working in television you’d be…
A cook or stay-at-home mum!
What would you be if you weren’t in the job that you were in?
