PORT ANGELES — Contractors for the city of Port Angeles will begin converting traffic signals to LEDs starting today at the intersection of Fifth and Race streets.
The project, part of the city’s capital facilities plan, will replace traffic signal heads at multiple locations around the city, according to a news flash on the city’s website.
The replacement project will continue at the following intersections:
• Fifth and Peabody streets on Thursday.
• Eighth and Peabody streets on Monday.
• Eighth and Race streets on Tuesday.
• Eighth and Cherry streets on July 2.
• Eighth and Pine streets on July 3.
• Front and Laurel streets on July 7-8.
• Front and Oak streets on July 9-10.
The traffic lights will be temporarily out of service while work is underway. Police officers will be onsite to direct traffic.
The work will be performed by the Port Angeles-based Olympic Electric Co.
