SEQUIM — Driftwood, chain saw art, and work by turners and pyrographers will be on display at the second annual Pacific Northwest Wood Artisans Show today (Saturday).
The show and sale, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Pioneer Park Clubhouse, 387 E. Washington St., is open to the public, and admission is free.
Visitors can talk with the artists and watch demonstrations by carver Gordon Day of Sequim.
Chain saw artists will carve eagles, bears, and benches outside the building, said Al Popowski, a member of the artisans group
“Last year, they sold everything they made,” Popowski said.
Carver Ken Campbell will be the featured artist.
Campbell is a world-class artist, Popowski said.
“There are only five who can do the master fish carvings. He’s one of the five in that class group,” Popowski said.
“He’s been rated as a master.”
The show will have 18 exhibitors, including the demonstration table, Popowski said.
He added that more wanted to exhibit, but that there wasn’t room for them.
“Next, we’re looking at getting a bigger place,” he said.
