Jessica Greene, the 18-year-old Makah woman who won the state’s Miss All Nations title in February, walked away with the Most Inspirational award in Saturday’s Miss Washington pageant in Tacoma.
Tinker Lucas, director of the Miss All Nations program, said the award is a rare honor.
“They (the judges) said that when they met her, there was something very special about her,” Lucas said.
Greene was not available for comment Sunday evening.
Greene, who represented the state’s Indian tribes, made cultural awareness her competition platform. She performed a self-choreographed American Indian fancy dance for the talent portion of the event.
