NOTE: “Today” and “tonight” refer to Friday, July 29.

SEQUIM — Lobo Del Mar will perform at the Sequim Library at 6 tonight during the library’s annual Summertime Music! Outdoor Concert Series.

The free performance will take place on the outdoor stage behind the library at 630 N. Sequim Ave.

Attendees are urged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnic food.

In case of rain or inclement weather, the performance will be held indoors at the library.

Lobo Del Mar is a family-owned and -operated Celtic band and dance troupe from Port Ludlow that plays an eclectic mix of music from its journeys around the globe.

The band’s repertoire includes Celtic music, bagpipes, Irish step dance, flamenco, Mexican music, bluegrass, Western swing, Polynesian music and dance, and bellydancing.

The library will host free outdoor concerts each Friday through Aug. 12 and again Saturday, Aug. 20. Performances are from 6 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.

On Aug. 5, the concert series will feature the Delta Rays band.

The Delta Rays perform a blend of zydeco, R&B, Irish fiddle, Tex-Mex accordion, Gypsy folk and swing.

The band has played regularly in the Port Townsend area for more than 20 years, as well as at the Juan de Fuca Festival, the Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival and the Jefferson and Clallam County fairs.

Members include Peter Evasick on fiddle and guitar, George Radebaugh on piano and accordion, Peter Bliven on drums and Todd Fischer on bass.

On Aug. 12, the Bushwick Book Club of Seattle will deliver literature, music and songwriting, performing original music inspired by a variety of books.

A community contra dance featuring fiddler Rodney Miller is planned Aug. 20.

The all-ages community contra dance also will feature caller Sherry Nevins and Alex Sturbaum on guitar.

In the event of rain Aug. 20, the contra dance will take place inside the Sequim High School cafeteria at 601 N. Sequim Ave.

The program is free to the public through the support of the Friends of Sequim Library.
