PORT ANGELES — Two people suffered significant injuries when the motorcycle they were riding collided into the back of a truck in the 200 block of East Front Street.
After striking the truck Friday afternoon, the motorcycle left the roadway, struck a tree and landed on the grassy area next to the street, said Port Angeles Police Chief Brian Smith.
“The truck driver might not even have been aware of it,” Smith said. “We have some video and we are reconstructing the scene. Two people were receiving advanced life support and were taken to (Olympic Medical Center).”
Neither person was identified and their conditions could not be obtained from the hospital without identification.
“There’s going to be additional work to do,” Smith said. “We’ve asked the Washington State Patrol to help with the accident scene reconstruction.”
The northbound lane of East Front Street was closed during the investigation, Smith said.
