PORT LUDLOW — An Edmonds woman injured in a two-vehicle collision Friday 8 miles south of Chimacum was listed in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle on Saturday.
Joy K. Anderson, 67, was airlifted to Harborview following the 4:06 p.m. wreck, according to the State Patrol.
Adam L. Thomas, 37, of Port Hadlock was taken to Jefferson Healthcare hospital in Port Townsend with apparently minor injuries, according to Chief Brad Martin of Port Ludlow Fire & Rescue in an email.
He was treated and released, according to a nursing supervisor on duty.
Information about Thomas’ condition was unavailable Saturday.
State Highway 19 was fully or partially blocked for about two hours, the State Patrol said.
Anderson was driving a gray 2006 Nissan Titan pickup truck westbound on Oak Bay Road and stopped the intersection with state Highway 19, while Thomas was driving a silver 2009 Volkswagen Jetta four-door sedan northbound on Highway 19, according to the State Patrol.
Anderson reportedly failed to yield right of way, pulling out in front of Thomas onto the highway, and was struck, the State Patrol said.
The Nissan went over the highway embankment, entrapping Anderson, Martin said.
The drivers of both vehicles were treated on site for injuries before being transported, Martin said.
Personnel with East Jefferson Fire-Rescue, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Quilcene Fire Rescue and Naval Magazine Indian Island Engine 91 also assisted.
The scene was turned over to law enforcement at 5:35 p.m., Martin said.
Charges against Anderson for failure to yield are pending, State Patrol said.
All travelers were wearing seat belts.
The State Patrol said neither drugs nor alcohol contributed to the wreck.
