FORKS — Contractors are removing trees along U.S. Highway 101 south of Forks in preparation for two new fish passage projects.
Work crews will only be removing trees necessary for project completion, according to a press release from the state Department of Transportation.
Drivers will see single-lane, alternating traffic at milepost 163, between Ruby Beach and Kalaloch Beach, through March 28, and at milepost 189, near Mansfield Road, from March 26 through April 4.
All work will be performed between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on weekdays.
The work is scheduled during daylight for safety reasons, WSDOT said.
