Today deadline for registering to Port Angeles Fire Department breakfast

PORT ANGELES — The 10-cent phrase is “video laryngoscope.”

A pancake breakfast Saturday will raise money for the Port Angeles Fire Department and specifically video laryngoscopes, a piece of medical equipment on emergency medical technician’s wish lists that can run around $2,000, organizer Elizabeth Pratt said.

“The more we raise, the more equipment the department can buy,” Pratt said.

“We are hoping to have a very nice fund to hand over to the fire department in thanks for what they do every day for our community, both at Park View and the city as a whole.”

The breakfast will be from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Park View Villas, 1430 Park View Villas.

Today is the last day people can RSVP to 360-452-7222.

Admission costs $10 for adults and $7 for seniors and children, while those 6 and younger enter free.

On the menu will be pancakes, sausage, eggs and fruit.

Port Angeles Fire Department firefighters and EMTs also will be on hand to give firetruck and aid car tours.

“We hope to see families with kids join us, as we all know how much young ones love the firetrucks,” Pratt said.

Attendees can also enter a raffle drawing. Tickets cost $5 each or five for $20.

Prizes include a quilt donated by Sleepy Valley Quilt Co., tickets to the Dungeness Crab & Seafood Festival in Port Angeles, one ride in a firetruck to school and three gift baskets arranged by Crestwood Health & Rehabilitation Center, Highland Court Memory Care and Park View Villas.
