FORKS — Voices for Veterans will host a one-day Veterans Stand Down from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at the Forks Elks Lodge.
The event at 941 Merchants Road will be free to homeless vets and all veterans in need along with their immediate family members.
Hot meals — both breakfast and lunch — are planned. Medical and dental health screenings will be provided.
Employment services, housing assistance, legal aid and haircuts, free clothing, bedding, hygiene kits and outdoor equipment will be offered.
Free transportation will be offered through Clallam and Jefferson Transit.
“Due to Crescent Lake closures all veterans must be onboard bus No. 14 by 7:45 a.m. Departure from Forks is 1:30 p.m.,” event organizers said in a news release.
