SEQUIM — Faced with two failures of the maintenance and operations levy election earlier this year, the Sequim School Board is considering a less expensive budget for the 2001-2002 fiscal year.
The proposed budget shows total anticipated expenditures of $16,941,984 with projected revenues and other financing sources of $16,632,659.
The figures are well below the district’s 2000-01 operating budget, which anticipated expenditures and revenue of nearly $17.3 million.
Several reductions are reflected in a draft of the School Board’s fiscal year 2001-02 district operating budget presented to the School Board last week.
Superintendent Mike Joyner said reductions implemented to date should result in savings of $950,200 from last year.
