SEQUIM — Sequim Aquatic Recreation Center commissioners aren’t the only people scratching their heads about how to overcome the facility’s financial shortfall following back-to-back maintenance and operations levy failures.
Center users are also wondering what will happen to hours of operation and admission and membership prices.
The question over financing the operation follows the failure of two maintenance and operations levy amounts.
State law prohibits submitting another until next September.
In the meantime, aquatic center officials are struggling to fill an expected $264,000 budget shortfall next year.
Aquatic center commissioners have already approved adding sales tax to admission prices rather than including it, as in the past.
Commissioners have also discussed raising prices further and cutting hours of operation for the North Fifth Avenue recreation facility.
