SEQUIM — Mayor watchers anonymous strikes again.
A “For Rent”‘ sign has been posted on the lawn in front of the house at 490 S. Sequim Ave., where Mayor Bill Thomas claims residency.
“Yep. We’re moving,” Thomas said Tuesday, confirming he plans to vacate the house, along with his wife, Carol, and her son.
“That place just isn’t working for us,” Thomas said, anticipating another wave of attention from his critics in Sequim.
Thomas was the target of a voter registration challenge last fall by two residents who claimed he did not live in the city and therefore could not vote.
A Clallam County Election Certification Board ruled petitioners Paul and Margie Malkasian of Sequim did not provide sufficient evidence to prove the mayor was not a resident of the North Second Avenue house he said he was living in at the time.
