SEQUIM — Given the recommended choice of minimum or maximum reduction in force numbers, the School Board settled on the lesser figure during its special session Friday night.
The clearly reluctant board voted unanimously to authorize Superintendent Mike Joyner to issue “RIF”‘ letters to 3.6 full-time equivalent employees this week.
That means at least four certified teachers will receive notification that the district will be unable to renew their contracts for the 2001-02 school year.
The report appears in today’s Clallam County edition of the Peninsula Daily News, on sale throughout the county. Or hit “Subscribe” at left to order your copy via U.S. mail.
