SEQUIM — The prospective owner of a 42-acre parcel of land on the northwest corner of Washington Street and Priest Road in Sequim is looking to develop a retail complex on the vacant site.
A Bremerton developer, Paul Pazooki, submitted a comprehensive plan amendment to the Sequim Planning Department this month requesting that the site near U.S. Highway 101 be changed from mixed-use to commercial zoning.
Pazooki, an engineer and consultant who has developed shopping centers in Bremerton and Spokane, said he is looking to develop a complex which could possibly house large chain stores, grocers, and small retail oufits.
“We don’t have anyone lined up yet,” he said. “We’re talking to several potential tenants, basically anybody who is not in Sequim.”
Pazooki declined to name companies that might be interested in coming to the site .
