SEQUIM — Two of the North Olympic Peninsula’s busiest volunteers, Bob and Sherry Phillips, will ride in the grand marshal’s vehicle Saturday during the 106th Irrigation Festival Grand Parade.
The parade begins at noon on Washington Street, between Dunlap and Fifth avenues.
The Phillipses have actively been involved in the planning and presenting of the annual celebration for more than 26 years.
Both born and raised in Port Angeles, they moved to Sequim in 1975, where Bob was a banker for 33 years until he retired in 1995. A 29-year member of the Sequim Rotary Club, he has worked on staging the parade for as many years.
Sherry chaired the Soroptimist Club’s VIP luncheon for several years, but has been involved in festival planning for 26 years.
