SEQUIM — The City Council postponed on Wednesday its comprehensive plan update completion until at least March 31.
Frank Needham, capital projects manager, said there were still holes in the comprehensive plan due to the fact that the city was still waiting for information from the state about several items, including transportation and water issues.
The comprehensive plan helps to provide a foundation for planning and zoning decisions in the city and urban growth area.
Councilman Bill Huizinga said he had no problem with pushing the timeline for finishing the plan’s update back.
“I think we ought to do it right,” Huizinga said.
Mayor Walt Schubert said he also agreed with postponing completion of the plan.
“We need to do this right, we need to have this complete before we OK it,” Schubert said.
