Bill Elliott officially became the new Sequim city manager Wednesday.
The City Council voted unanimously to appoint the former Milton-Freewater, Ore., city manager to the position and also approved his contract. The contract only requires the signatures of Elliott and Mayor Bill Thomas to become official.
Elliott, 59, will receive $71,000, plus benefits and up to $6,000 in moving expenses, to succeed Interim City Manager Stan McNutt, who helped coordinate the recruitment effort.
Elliott will report to his new job May 30, one day before McNutt is scheduled to leave the post. McNutt assumed the interim role March 1, following the resignation of Stephani Johnson.
