More than 150 people turned out Sunday afternoon for the grand opening of the Dungeness River Audubon Center at Railroad Bridge Park in Sequim.
“It was a labor of love,” said Stu Mac Robbie from the Olympic Peninsula Audubon Society.
“The major goal was a nature center so the whole community could learn about the Dungeness River watershed and experience it hands-on. I’ve found the best way to do that is to get your hands dirty.”
The center is intended for adults and children, though Robbie said it might be more important for the adults.
