SEQUIM — Thirteen young women are honing their personal and performance skills as they compete to be queen and royalty of the 108th Sequim Irrigation Festival.
The 13 are Jamie Decker, Kristy Dinius, Nancy Haase, Kate Hibbard, Alicia Kuznek, Megin Lovell, Larissa Martin, Kelsey Meyer, Julie Mullikin, Brittnie Obregon, Leah Stites, Jennifer Tivald and Jessica Wilson.
One of the 13 will be selected queen. Three others will serve on the royal court.
They will represent the Sequim-Dungeness Valley during the Irrigation Festival and at festivals across Western Washington.
The queen and court will be selected during the festival pageant March 1 in the auditorium of the performing arts center at Sequim High School, 601 N. Sequim Ave.
Jennifer Horton is completing her role as 2002 queen.
Her princesses are Maggie Hooker, Cortney Obregon (sister of Brittnie Obregon, one of the 2003 candidates) and Jennifer Lamb.
