PORT TOWNSEND — The casting call came in the pre-dawn hours Tuesday for dozens of Port Townsend residents serving as extras in the Jennifer Lopez movie “Enough.”
They ate breakfast in the chill gray dawn before heading to the Port Townsend ferry dock where filming would take place on a rented Washington state ferry.
Some would act like commuters and some as families on vacation.
All would be within a stone’s throw of one of the most popular actresses on the Hollywood scene today.
But none of the “scenery artists” — the euphemism for extras — would get a chance to hobnob with the actors.
Jennifer Lopez, Dan Futterman and Tessa Allen weren’t hanging out with extras between shots.
After the ferry filming, most of the extras spent the day loitering under a tent behind the Bishop Victorian Guest Suites waiting to carve off another few seconds on their 15 minutes of fame.
