PORT TOWNSEND — Commercial property owners in the historic uptown and downtown districts may benefit from nearly $60,000 in low-interest Housing and Urban Development loans being made available for building rehabilitation.
Owners wanting to make repairs to enhance the historic character of their buildings or correct potential public safety hazards may apply for loans for $1,000 to $25,000.
The loans, replenished every two years since the program started in 1985, have helped provide facelifts for the Rose Theatre, the Terry and the Green Eyeshade buildings.
