PORT TOWNSEND — Michelle Sandoval, a local real estate agent and Port Townsend City Council member, has purchased the Windermere Real Estate agency in Port Townsend in partnership with her husband, Marty Gay, another Realtor, Jan Garing, and Garing’s husband, Dave.
The new owners announced the sale to the agency’s associates Feb. 4, the day the sale closed.
Barbara Bogart was named designated broker, and Richard Stelow was named manager of the Kala Square Windermere office.
Sandoval, who ran unsuccessfully for county commissioner in 2000, was elected to the City Council in November 2001.
Gay was interim executive director of the Economic Development Council of Jefferson County and former county Democratic Party chair.
Jan Garing, a Marrowstone Island resident, came to real estate from a financial services career.
The agency was purchased from Scott McKay of Edmonds, who was the broker/manager for two years.
Located at 1220 Water St. across from the Port Townsend ferry dock, the agency has 22 agents.
