OLYMPIA — A Port Angeles man is in custody for allegedly making threats toward an unnamed state senator last month.
Michael Albert Percival, 51, allegedly told a state Department of Licensing employee during a phone conversation Jan. 20 that he planned to be on the Capitol campus the next day with a gun “and that maybe someone had to get hurt before he was heard,” according to court records.
He did not name who might get hurt.
Percival was arrested Jan. 21 and charged in Thurston County Superior Court with intimidating a public servant, a felony.
He is being held in lieu of $40,000 bail and his case is scheduled for trial the week of March 14, a court clerk said Tuesday.
