PORT ANGELES — Your home could hold a household full of hazardous chemicals.
Paints and stains, pesticides and poisons, herbicides, hobby supplies — even burned-out fluorescent tubes or rechargeable batteries — could kill or injure homeowners or their loved ones or harm the environment, Dr. Tom Locke said Monday.
People can dispose of them safely in Port Angeles on Friday and Saturday and in Sequim on Sunday during the free Household Hazardous Waste event.
The Clallam County Division of Environmental Health and the Port Angeles Division of Solid Waste will accept hazardous chemicals from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the Wal-Mart parking lot off U.S. Highway 101 east of Port Angeles.
The Sequim collection site will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the city shops, 169 Hemlock Ave. near Second Avenue.
