PORT ANGELES — The city of Port Angeles and Clallam County Public Utility District No. 1 have rescinded water restrictions for their respective water systems.
The city had declared a Stage III water shortage on Sept. 12, prompted by decreased flow in the Elwha River.
Water levels have remained above levels of concern since Oct. 24, with peak flows of 9,630 cubic feet per second recorded on Saturday.
Combined with a forecast for additional rain, the city has determined that water restrictions are no longer necessary.

Meanwhile, the PUD has lifted drought responses for the Clallam Bay/Sekiu, Island View, Evergreen, Carlsborg and Fairview water systems following a review of streamflow, well level and precipitation data.
All of the typical sources of supply within these water systems are online and available.
The Gales Addition, Mount Angeles and Monroe water systems rely on purchased water supplied by the city of Port Angeles.
With the lifting of water restrictions by the city, the drought response alert for those systems also have been lifted.
