PORT ANGELES — Heavy rains overloaded city storm drains Sunday night as high winds knocked out power across the West End.
The Elwha River and Dungeness River were put on a flood watch at 7:45 p.m. into the night Sunday. Roads, pastureland and some residences were reportedly threatened.
Port Townsend-Keystone ferry service also was suspended “until further notice” due to the rough weather. Earlier reported damage to the landing in Keystone is scheduled for assessment and repairs today.
Culverts for both Ennis Creek and Valley Creek were reported overflowing Sunday evening.
City maintenance supervisor Mike Horton said flooding was reported citywide “in the same spots as usual.”
