PORT ANGELES — A man was transported to Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles following a two-vehicle collision.
Robert Spencer, 73, of Port Angeles was driving a 2003 Mazda Protege southbound on Dry Creek Road at U.S. Highway 101 about 9:40 a.m. Tuesday when he attempted to make a left turn onto the highway and was struck by a dump truck, the State Patrol said.
The dump truck, driven by James Needham, 49, of Sequim, came to rest on the westbound shoulder of Highway 101 while the Mazda stopped in the southbound lane of Dry Creek Road, the State Patrol said.
Spencer was transported to OMC, the State Patrol said. Needham was not injured, the agency added.
Spencer was cited for inattentive driving and failure to give right of way, the State Patrol said.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. Neither drugs nor alcohol were involved, the agency added.
