One person injured in three-car collision near Chimacum

Boy, 17, cited for driving too fast for conditions

CHIMACUM — One woman was taken to a hospital following a three-car collision on state Highway 19 at Anderson Lake Road, the State Patrol said.

The rear-end sequence occurred about 5:25 p.m. Wednesday as one driver waited for traffic to clear before attempting to turn left onto Anderson Lake Road, according to the State Patrol report.

A second driver, Sandra Curtis, 75, of Chimacum was waiting behind the first when her vehicle was struck from behind and pushed forward into a collision, the report said.

Curtis was transported to Jefferson Healthcare hospital after her silver 2007 Toyota Highlander was struck by Brayden Yingling, 17, of Port Hadlock, the State Patrol said.

Curtis was later discharged, hospital spokesperson Amy Yaley said.

Yingling was driving a 2008 white Cadillac CTS and was cited for traveling too fast for conditions.

Curtis’ vehicle collided with a tan 2006 Chevy pickup truck driven by Rebekah Beringer, 39, of Chimacum.

Neither Beringer nor Yingling were injured, according to the State Patrol.

The cause was a failure to stop for traffic, the report stated.

All three drivers were wearing seat belts. Drugs or alcohol were not factors in the collision, the State Patrol said.

The three vehicles all sustained reportable damage, according to the report. Curtis’ Highlander and Beringer’s pickup were towed away. Yingling drove his Cadillac from the scene, according to vthe State Patrol.
