PORT HADLOCK — The Bushwick Book Club Seattle will perform live original music inspired by literary characters and creatures at the Jefferson County Library, 620 Cedar Ave., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

The literary-inspired original songs will be performed, including Cheryl Strayed’s Wild and C.S. Lewis’ The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

Band members will interact with the crowd and explain the creative process behind the songs.

The Friends of the Jefferson County Library book sale also will take place and will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The event is free, open to the public and for all ages.

In the event of rain, seating will be limited, so arriving early is recommended.

Salmon bake

SEQUIM — Sequim Noon Rotary President Ed Ebling announced that the club will sponsor its 48th annual Salmon Bake and BBQ at the Sequim Boys & Girls Club from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Adults will have a choice of either alder-fired wild salmon or a pulled-pork plate for $16 with the purchase of a presale ticket. Entry will be $18 at the door.

Adult meals will include baked beans, cole slaw, a roll and an ice-cream cup and drink.

A jumbo all-beef hot dog and drink will be available for children younger than 12 for $5.

Live music will be performed by the Dukes of Dabob and Trail Mix, featuring Neil and Bobbie Usselman.

There will also be a raffle and exhibits.

Tickets are available from Noon Rotary Club members, at ticket booths or at the door.

All proceeds benefit Sequim children, local charities and Sequim Rotary projects.

Girls Night Out meeting Wednesday

PORT TOWNSEND — Port Townsend historic districts’ merchants are invited to attend a “Girls’ Night Out” planning meeting at Alchemy Bistro and Wine Bar, 842 Washington St., from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday.

Speakers will include Josh Sherwin of the Gig Harbor Waterfront Alliance, Karrie Polinski of Tickled Pink Gig Harbor and Sue Arthur, the former owner of Maricee Fashions in Port Townsend.

The event will include complimentary coffee, treats and handouts.
