PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Marching Band and Drumline will perform along First Street, near the Laurel Street Fountain, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday as part of a fundraiser to go to Carnegie Hall.
The band members will sell Legato blend coffee from Rainshadow Roasters to raise funds for their upcoming trip to New York City to participate in the National Youth Choir and Instrumental Music Festival presented by WorldStrides.
The high school’s band, choir and orchestra, some 170 students, are set to perform in Carnegie Hall on March 26, according to Jarrett Hansen, director of bands, and chair of the Music and Visual Arts Department at Port Angeles High School.
The public will be able to see free previews of the young musicians’ performances. All will be at 7 p.m. at the Port Angeles High School Performing Arts Center at 304 E. Park Ave.
The orchestra will perform on March 7. The band on March 8. And the choir on March 14.
